底特律华裔作家陈国材10月29日返乡分享：在唐人街餐馆里长大的一代人
底特律华裔美国人协会（Association of Chinese Americans，ACA）宣布，10月29日（周四）晚6时30分至8时，在位于美国密歇根州奥克兰县 Madison Heights 的 ACA 华人社区中心（32585 Concord Drive）举办“与 Curtis Chin 之夜：身份、社区与韧性”分享会。活动由 ACA 青少年志愿者理事会（ACA Teen Volunteer Council）主办，是“密歇根全州共读”（Great Michigan Read）的合作活动，全程以英语进行。
主讲人 Curtis Chin（陈国材）出生、成长于密歇根州韦恩县底特律市，家族曾在底特律历史悠久的唐人街经营 Chung's Cantonese Cuisine。他的回忆录 Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant（2023年出版）以这家餐馆的菜单为结构，讲述他在华人餐馆里长大的童年、家族生意、底特律的变迁，以及作为华裔与同性恋亚裔的身份追寻。
陈国材毕业于密歇根大学，是纽约亚裔美国作家工作坊（Asian American Writers' Workshop）的联合创始人之一，曾为 CNN、Bon Appétit、底特律自由新闻报（Detroit Free Press）等撰稿。该书获美国图书馆协会 Stonewall 荣誉图书与2024年密歇根州年度好书（Michigan Notable Book），并被密歇根人文委员会选为2025至2026年度“密歇根全州共读”书目。报名与活动详情见 ACA 官网活动页。活动费用以主办方公布为准。

Detroit-Born Author Curtis Chin Returns on October 29: An Evening on Identity, Community and Resilience
The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) will host 'An Evening with Curtis Chin: Identity, Community, and Resilience' on Thursday, October 29, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the ACA Chinese Community Center, 32585 Concord Drive in Madison Heights, Oakland County, Michigan. The event is hosted by the ACA Teen Volunteer Council as a Great Michigan Read partner event and will be conducted in English.
Curtis Chin was born and raised in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, where his family owned Chung's Cantonese Cuisine in the city's historic Chinatown. His memoir, Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant (2023), is structured around the restaurant's menu and tells of his childhood in the family restaurant, the family business, a changing Detroit, and his coming of age as a gay Chinese American.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Chin co-founded the Asian American Writers' Workshop in New York and has written for CNN, Bon Appétit and the Detroit Free Press, among others. The book was named an American Library Association Stonewall Honor Book and a 2024 Michigan Notable Book, and was selected by Michigan Humanities as the 2025-26 Great Michigan Read.
