Netflix announced on October 21 that Season 4 of Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black has kicked off production in Atlanta, Georgia. According to Netflix's announcement, Perry continues as the series' creator, writer, director and executive producer, with Angi Bones and Tony Strickland producing for Tyler Perry Studios. Season 4 picks up in the aftermath of the attack that closed Season 3, with a fight for control of the Bellarie empire involving revenge, betrayal and hostile takeovers, and the official logline warns that not everyone will survive. Netflix has not announced a premiere date or the new season's cast, saying Season 4 details will be shared at a later time.
Season 3, which premiered on August 27, spent four weeks in Netflix's Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 22 countries. The series is set around a Chicago beauty company but has been filmed in Georgia, and the Season 4 announcement again identifies Atlanta as the production base.
