The NBA's "Starting 5" roundup of Sunday's games, published October 26, led with Oklahoma City: the Thunder beat the Los Angeles Clippers 108-101 to reach 3-0, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 34 points, but forward Jalen Williams suffered a serious lower-left-leg injury late in the fourth quarter and was stretchered off; coach Mark Daigneault said an update was expected Monday.
The Minnesota Timberwolves beat Toronto 117-94 for their third straight win by 20 or more points, becoming only the third team in NBA history to open a season that way, after the 2004-05 Utah Jazz and the 1962-63 Boston Celtics. Minnesota's defensive rating of 96.1 is the league's best.
The Memphis Grizzlies beat Sacramento 123-112 for their first 3-0 start in nine years, with guard Ty Jerome reaching 104 points across his first three games of the season.
