The 50 Best Restaurants 2026 Revealed in Lima on November 4: Spain's Asador Etxebarri Takes No. 1, New York's Atomix Leads North America at No. 11
LIMA, Peru — The 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list was revealed on November 4 at an awards ceremony at the Teatro Municipal de Lima. Asador Etxebarri, in Atxondo in Spain's Basque Country, was named the world's best restaurant and also took the title of Best Restaurant in Europe. The restaurant, where chef-owner Víctor Arguinzoniz is known for his mastery of cooking over fire, climbed from last year's No. 2 position.
Ranks two through ten went to Gaggan in Bangkok (also Best Restaurant in Asia), Alchemist in Copenhagen, Quintonil in Mexico City, Wing in Hong Kong, The Chairman in Hong Kong, Kjolle in Lima, Kadeau in Copenhagen, DiverXO in Madrid and Plénitude in Paris. The only U.S. restaurant on the list, New York's Atomix, placed No. 11 and was named Best Restaurant in North America. Sydney's Saint Peter entered the list at No. 50 as a new entry and was named Best Restaurant in Oceania.
This year's list spans 28 territories across six continents, with 11 restaurants making their debut and five returning to the top 50. The ranking is voted on by more than 1,100 restaurant industry experts worldwide, with Deloitte independently adjudicating the votes. Last year's winner, Maido in Lima, moves into the organizers' Best of the Best hall of fame and is no longer eligible for the annual ranking.
