Wang YMCA of Chinatown Legacy Dinner Held November 7 in Boston; Proceeds Support Equity Work in Chinatown
BOSTON, Massachusetts — The Wang YMCA of Chinatown held its annual Legacy Dinner on Saturday, November 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Empire Garden Restaurant, 690 Washington Street in Chinatown.
Organizers said the dinner celebrates the YMCA's place as part of the Chinatown community, giving attendees an evening to gather over food and support the Y's work in Chinatown. All proceeds from the dinner will support Wang YMCA programs advancing equity in Boston's Chinatown and surrounding neighborhoods.
The Wang YMCA is a key community service institution in Boston's Chinatown, long providing youth, family and health services to Chinatown residents and nearby communities. Organizers said Chinatown community organizations have raised service funds in recent years through dinners, charity sales and other efforts, and that the dinner is both a fundraiser and an annual reunion for residents. Residents interested in attending could find dinner details and registration information on the YMCA of Greater Boston website.
