Alabama Beats Arkansas State 101-86 as Amari Allen's Triple-Double Is the Fifth in Program History
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Alabama's men's basketball team beat Arkansas State 101-86 at Coleman Coliseum on the night of November 6 for a 2-0 start to the season. The No. 20 Crimson Tide started slowly — Arkansas State still led with 4:13 left in the first half — before Alabama poured in 32 points over the final 9:35 of the half to seize control, finishing 15-of-50 from three-point range. Sophomore Amari Allen recorded the fifth triple-double in program history, the night's biggest highlight; transfer Brandon Garrison added a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds and earned the team's 'Hard Hat' award. Arkansas State, coached by former Alabama assistant Ryan Pannone, fought to the final buzzer. Alabama's leading scorer Aden Holloway missed the game through injury and is expected back Monday against Oakland. Alabama is 2-0; Arkansas State is 1-1.
