新泽西州副州长人选再变：众议员雷诺兹-杰克逊退出考虑，州长称尊重其决定
美国新泽西州州长米基·谢里尔11月6日发表声明，确认州众议员弗丽娜·雷诺兹-杰克逊（Verlina Reynolds-Jackson）已退出副州长职位的考虑人选行列。谢里尔表示，她理解并尊重雷诺兹-杰克逊「现在不是她出任这一职务的合适时机」的决定，并感谢她愿意站出来接受考虑。
雷诺兹-杰克逊是新泽西州众议员，并担任州立法黑人核心小组主席。她退出后，谢里尔仍需另行物色副州长提名人选。

New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Search Shifts Again: Assemblywoman Reynolds-Jackson Withdraws from Consideration, Governor Respects the Decision
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill issued a statement on November 6 confirming that Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson has withdrawn from consideration for lieutenant governor. Sherrill said she understands and respects Reynolds-Jackson's decision that now is not the right time for her, and thanked her for her willingness to step forward for consideration.
Reynolds-Jackson serves in the New Jersey General Assembly and chairs the Legislative Black Caucus. With her withdrawal, Sherrill must look elsewhere for a nominee for the office.
New Jersey's lieutenant governorship has been vacant since Dale Caldwell resigned in September. Under the state's constitutional arrangement, the lieutenant governor is the second-ranking official in state government and also serves as secretary of state, overseeing election administration among other duties, so a prolonged vacancy affects continuity at the top of the administration.
The Governor's Office did not announce a new candidate list or a nomination timetable in the statement. Filling the vacancy remains one of the unfinished personnel matters of Sherrill's administration following the turmoil around Caldwell's departure. (Source: Office of the Governor of New Jersey)
