加州自然资源署11月9日办气候科学线上讨论：联邦经费削减成议题
加州自然资源署11月6日宣布，该署「秘书演讲系列」将于11月9日（周一）中午12时至下午1时举办线上讨论，主题为「承压的科学：加州面临什么风险」，公众可登记参加。
自然资源署称，随着气候威胁加剧，加州依靠科学保护社区、保障供水并为新风险做准备；本次讨论将探讨指引加州未来的科学本身受到威胁时会发生什么，包括加州第五次气候变化评估的最新发现、厄尔尼诺状况的演变，以及联邦经费削减如何威胁关键研究、加州又如何推进气候科学与防备工作。
出席者包括自然资源署署长韦德·克劳福特（Wade Crowfoot）、署长科学顾问安德鲁·琼斯（Andrew Jones）博士、忧思科学家联盟西部州项目主任兰伊·蒋（Ranyee Chiang）、加州第五次气候变化评估项目经理兼协调主笔埃莉亚·贝克尔·洛（Elea Becker Lowe），以及斯克里普斯海洋学研究所气象学家、西部天气与水极端事件中心主任F·马丁·拉尔夫（F. Martin Ralph）博士。

California Natural Resources Agency to Host Climate Science Discussion on November 9
The California Natural Resources Agency announced on November 6 that its Secretary Speaker Series will host an online discussion, "Science Under Pressure: What's at Stake for California?", on Monday, November 9, from noon to 1 p.m., with registration open to the public.
As climate threats intensify, the agency said, California relies on science to protect communities, safeguard water supplies and prepare for new risks. The discussion will explore what happens when the science guiding California's future is itself under threat, including the latest findings from California's Fifth Climate Change Assessment, evolving El Niño conditions, how federal funding cuts are threatening critical research, and how California is advancing climate science and preparedness.
Speakers include Natural Resources Secretary Wade Crowfoot; Dr. Andrew Jones, Science Advisor to the Secretary; Ranyee Chiang, Western States Program Director at the Union of Concerned Scientists; Elea Becker Lowe, Climate Assessment Program Manager and Coordinating Lead Author for California's Fifth Climate Change Assessment; and Dr. F. Martin Ralph, a meteorologist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Director of the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes.
