West Monroe Man Convicted by Federal Jury of Distributing Methamphetamine After Selling Half a Kilogram to an Informant
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana announced that Anfernee A. Rone, 30, of West Monroe, in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, was found guilty by a federal jury of distributing a controlled substance. The verdict was returned on October 20, 2026, after a two-day trial before United States District Judge David C. Joseph.
According to evidence presented at trial, Rone, who had been under investigation, sold approximately one-half of a kilogram of methamphetamine to a confidential informant. On September 11, 2025, the informant arranged and completed the purchase from Rone at a West Monroe-area store while law enforcement officers surveilled the deal and Rone's residence. Through that surveillance, officers saw Rone leave his residence carrying a plastic bag that contained a large object before traveling to the meeting location, where he sold the methamphetamine to the informant, who was wearing surveillance equipment.
Rone is scheduled to be sentenced on January 19, 2027, before Judge Joseph. He faces a minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison; a federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. The case number is 26-cr-00183.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, the Monroe Police Department, and the West Monroe Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Cheyenne Y. Wilson and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Charlotte Farshian are prosecuting the case, and U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller made the announcement.
