Ziff Davis Q3 Revenue $289.3 Million: Net Loss of $28.7 Million, About $265 Million in Buybacks in First Three Quarters
Ziff Davis, the digital media and internet company based in New York City, New York County, New York, on November 5 reported results for the third quarter of 2026: revenue fell year over year, while the company repurchased about $265 million of its shares in the first three quarters, cutting its share count by nearly 14%.
Third-quarter revenue was $289.3 million, compared with $306.5 million a year earlier. By segment, Technology and Shopping contributed $82.0 million, Gaming and Entertainment $46.6 million, Health and Wellness $92.5 million, and Cybersecurity and Martech $68.2 million.
The company posted an operating loss of $33.6 million, compared with operating income of $11.4 million a year earlier. The loss included a $29.6 million goodwill impairment and a $14.6 million long-lived assets impairment, against a $17.6 million goodwill impairment a year earlier. The net loss from continuing operations was $28.7 million, compared with a $16.0 million loss, and the diluted loss per share was $0.85, compared with $0.39.
On a non-GAAP basis, adjusted EBITDA was $82.2 million, down from $97.8 million, adjusted net income was $48.3 million, and adjusted diluted EPS was $1.39, compared with $1.40 a year earlier.
Ziff Davis spent about $92.0 million on share repurchases in the quarter and about $7.0 million on current and prior-year acquisitions. CEO Vivek Shah said third-quarter results were in line with the expectations set last quarter, including sequential revenue growth despite a challenging operating environment, and that the company would keep pursuing opportunities to unlock shareholder value.
