长叶生菜沙门氏菌疫情结案：43人感染，食品药品监管局称确认来源时产品已过保质期
美国食品药品监管局（FDA）更新食源性疾病疫情调查表：编号 1402 的 Salmonella I 4,[5],12:i:- 疫情调查已经结案。这起疫情共有 43 名确诊患者，美国疾病控制与预防中心（CDC）、FDA 与州及地方伙伴开展的流行病学与溯源调查认定，长叶生菜（Romaine lettuce）是这起疫情的可能来源。FDA 表示，这起疫情已经结束，目前对消费者没有风险。
FDA 称，调查期间采集并分析的环境样本全部未检出沙门氏菌；等到调查人员掌握足够信息、确认长叶生菜为疫情来源时，涉事产品已经过了保质期、不再在市面销售。FDA 的结案通告没有公布涉事生菜的品牌或种植者名称。
在同一批更新里，FDA 还宣布编号 1403 的 Salmonella Newport 疫情调查结案，这起疫情共有 119 例、来源未确认；编号 1392 的环孢子虫疫情病例数由 241 例调整为 175 例并结案，欧芹被认定为其可能来源，拆分出的编号 1396 疫情（66 例）同样结案、来源未确认。仍在调查中的编号 1424 Salmonella Javiana 疫情病例数由 59 例升至 65 例，FDA 已启动溯源。
FDA Closes Romaine Lettuce Salmonella Investigation: 43 Cases, Product Past Shelf Life When Source Was Confirmed
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has updated its table of foodborne illness outbreak investigations: the investigation into the Salmonella I 4,[5],12:i:- outbreak, reference #1402, is now closed. The outbreak sickened 43 confirmed patients, and epidemiologic and traceback investigations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), FDA and state and local partners identified romaine lettuce as the likely source of illnesses. FDA says the outbreak has ended and there is no risk to consumers.
FDA collected and analyzed environmental samples as part of the investigation, but all samples were reported as negative for Salmonella. By the time investigators had enough information to confirm romaine lettuce as the source, the products were past their shelf life and no longer available for sale. FDA's closure notice did not name a brand or grower for the lettuce involved.
In the same update, FDA also closed its investigation into a Salmonella Newport outbreak, reference #1403, which had 119 cases and no identified source. A Cyclospora outbreak, reference #1392, was adjusted from 241 to 175 cases and closed, with parsley identified as its likely source, and a separated incident, reference #1396 with 66 cases, was also closed without a confirmed source. An active Salmonella Javiana investigation, reference #1424, rose from 59 to 65 cases, and FDA has initiated traceback.
