肯塔基州贩毒累犯被判20年监禁：五次贩毒前科、贩运逾159克冰毒
美国司法部肯塔基西区联邦检察官办公室宣布，肯塔基州 Barren County 居民 Shane Stuart Wheat 因贩运冰毒，于2026年10月26日被判处20年联邦监禁，其后另有10年监督释放。Wheat 现年35岁，此前已有五次贩毒定罪记录，本案贩运的冰毒超过159.08克。

Kentucky Repeat Drug Trafficker Sentenced to 20 Years for Trafficking Over 159 Grams of Methamphetamine
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky announced that Shane Stuart Wheat, a resident of Barren County, Kentucky, was sentenced on October 26, 2026, to 20 years in federal prison for methamphetamine trafficking, followed by 10 years of supervised release. Wheat, 35, had previously been convicted of drug trafficking five times, and trafficked in over 159.08 grams of methamphetamine in this case.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Wheat's criminal history made him a "career offender" under the federal sentencing guidelines. His prior convictions include a December 9, 2021 conviction for trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, second or greater offense, involving more than 2 grams of methamphetamine, and two convictions on September 25, 2017, for the same offense; three of those offenses subjected him to increased penalties.
U.S. Attorney Kyle G. Bumgarner stated: "Twenty years in prison is a significant sentence which reflects the fact that Wheat was simply determined to remain a drug dealer for his entire life. It is almost incomprehensible that Wheat had previously been convicted of drug trafficking five times yet continued to peddle drugs. His drug trafficking career is over for two decades thanks to the important work of the Barren River Drug Task Force and the FBI."
Olivia Olson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Louisville Field Office, said the Homeland Security Task Force is working alongside its partners to target career criminals and drug trafficking organizations that threaten the safety and security of neighborhoods, and that the FBI will continue to use every available resource to pursue justice. Barren River Drug Task Force Director Ron Lafferty said the task force appreciates the combined efforts of working with the FBI to help fight the drug problem in Barren County.
The case was investigated by the FBI Bowling Green Resident Agency and the Barren River Drug Task Force, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark J. Yurchisin II. There is no parole in the federal system. The prosecution is part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative established by Executive Order 14159, a whole-of-government partnership dedicated to eliminating criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations operating in the United States.
