Helldivers 2 Adds Poisonous Terminids: Two New Noxious Bug Types as Bug Caves Spread to More Planets
PlayStation's official blog detailed the latest Helldivers 2 update on November 3: the Terminid bugs gain a poisonous Noxious strain, with two new types arriving the same day, and bug caves spreading to more planets.
The first is the Noxious Scavenger: faster than a regular scavenger, with a poisonous bite, but fragile, and countered well by shotguns, flamethrowers and grenades. The second is the Noxious Spewer: medium armor on its head and none on its abdomen, its Web Spit stops a hit Helldiver from sprinting, and when its abdomen bursts, the Web Explosion webs everyone nearby.
Poisoning comes in light and heavy grades: light poisoning blurs vision and drains health over time, and heavy poisoning also removes the ability to sprint. The HUD gains a new poison icon, and stims cure the effect.
On terrain, bug caves, previously confined to certain planets, now spread across more biomes, from desert to tundra, bringing cave combat to many more mission maps.
Helldivers 2, developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, is a four-player co-op shooter that has kept adding enemy types and terrain through major updates since launch.
