PGELA Impact & Venture Mixer Set for November 7 in Philadelphia: 15 Guests in Three Panels on Capital, Product and AI Startups
The PGELA Impact & Venture Mixer: From Idea to Impact, the annual venture gathering hosted by PGELA, the University of Pennsylvania chapter of the Global ESG Leadership Association (GELA), will take place on Saturday, November 7, from 5:40 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (EST) at EVO Rooftop (33rd floor), 2930 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Limited to 100 attendees, the evening will bring together about 15 guests from venture capital, technology innovation and startups for three panel discussions and open networking under the theme “From Idea to Impact.”
The mixer is built around two key conversations. The first, on the capital perspective — “The Art of Investment” — looks at how investors identify market opportunities with real potential amid industry change driven by super intelligence (SI) and emerging technologies, how they evaluate teams, business models and long-term growth, and how capital helps drive innovation. The second, on entrepreneurial practice — “Building What's Next” — examines how an innovative idea becomes a product with real market value, from user insight, product development and market validation to business-model exploration and commercial growth.
The three panels feature speakers from capital, product and fintech. Panel 1, “Capital & Investing” (6:15–6:50 p.m.), brings together five investors: Michael Aronson, with more than three decades of early-stage investing in the Penn ecosystem; Audrey Chambers, whose experience spans Bain, private equity and consumer-tech entrepreneurship; Stella Yoh, who spent nine years investing across emerging markets in Latin America and Asia; Chris Liu, focused on early-stage AI and embodied AI in Silicon Valley; and Maxwell Blum, who offers an insider view of LP decision-making from university endowments. Panel 2, “Product, Users & Execution” (6:55–7:30 p.m.), features six speakers: Joyce Onore, who drives enterprise digital initiatives at Deloitte; ShunShun Chen, who brought JD.com's product discipline to Feicai, a marketplace for international students; Nick Harty, who builds Storiara from real film-production pain points; Dani Lin, who applies technology to sustainable agriculture at Cropit; Nick Koh, who helps teenage founders build ventures through Expop; and Luke Guo, whose team grew Aident AI from zero to 18,000 users in three months. Panel 3 (7:35–8:10 p.m.), on AI and fintech entrepreneurship, features four founders — Humberto Lobo of Wealthnow, Shaorui “Eric” Li of Verdict, Kevin Russell of The Zillennial Advisors and Dave Coles of MoneyBadger — discussing how AI is reshaping institutional research, venture diligence and personal financial services, and how AI financial products can earn trust within regulatory frameworks.
The evening runs from check-in, food and initial mingling at 5:40 p.m., through a brief opening at 6:10 p.m. and the three panels with five-minute breaks in between, to open networking from 8:10 p.m. and a group photo and wrap-up by 9:30 p.m. Food and interactive activities will be provided on site.
