Marcel Johnson, a TikTok creator from Mount Clemens, Michigan, died at home on November 2 at 4:45 p.m. after a 15-month battle with stage 4 stomach cancer. He was 32. His wife, Taylor Johnson, announced his death in a TikTok video and an Instagram post, and USA Today followed up on November 4. Johnson had documented his cancer journey on TikTok, where his account had about 907,000 followers.
Taylor said in the video that her husband spent his final moments at home, as he had wished, with only the two of them in the room, and that she stayed with him for about eight hours afterward. "At 4:45 p.m. I lost a whole entire half of me. He fought so hard for so long. He was so tired and exhausted and in so much pain," she wrote. She said the only words Marcel spoke that morning, to her and his brother Dedric, were: "I'm ready to go."
Johnson was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma in August 2025 and recorded his diagnosis, chemotherapy and family life on his TikTok account, @celnoshell. According to Page Six, he revealed in September 2026 that he had stopped treatment after 25 rounds of chemotherapy. Before his diagnosis, he and Taylor ran Lil Daddy's Cheesecakes in Mount Clemens, a bakery named after their son.
A GoFundMe campaign first created to help with Johnson's treatment is now raising money for Taylor and their five sons, and had collected more than $370,000 as of November 4. Taylor said the five children are ages 2 to 9 and that the couple had kept their names private. In her video she thanked the followers who had supported them, saying her husband would have wanted the news shared with the people who had followed his whole journey.
