狮子会糖尿病宣教公益行11月14日举行：Rowland Heights办世界糖尿病日健康活动
位于加州洛杉矶县的 Rowland Heights 将迎来一场面向社区居民的健康公益活动。国际狮子会 District 4-L2（Lions Clubs International District 4-L2）主办的「糖尿病宣教·健康公益行」（Diabetes Awareness & Wellness Day）定于11月14日（星期六）上午8时30分至下午1时在 Peter Schabarum Regional Park 举行，这一天正是世界糖尿病日，活动以主题宣教形式向居民普及糖尿病防治与健康生活知识。
世界糖尿病日为每年的11月14日，糖尿病也是国际狮子会的全球服务志业之一，狮子会长期与国际糖尿病联合会合作，在各地社区推动糖尿病筛查与宣教。District 4-L2 覆盖洛杉矶县东部及圣盖博谷一带社区，此次把宣教活动办进公园，面向周边居民开放。
本次活动由 District 4-L2 领导团队领衔：总监 Jany Huang、第一副总监 Imelda Beltran、第二副总监 Mary Contreras。筹备委员会由主席 Furong Zhang（芙蓉）牵头，GST Jenny Chia 任共同主席，Cindy Leung（梁）任副主席；现场娱乐节目由 Queenie Liu、Cici Zou、Iris Ho 组成的娱乐团队负责。
活动得到 14 家狮子会赞助，包括 LA Royal Lions Club、Temple City Centennial Lions Club、San Gabriel Taiwanese Lions Club、Monrovia Lions Club、LA Dynasty Lions Club 等；协办单位包括美国风雷公益、美国北京联谊会、美国中华美食文化协会、世界阳光女人联合总会、美国台湾体育协会，支持单位为 uconnect Wireless。

Lions Diabetes Awareness & Wellness Day Set for Nov. 14 in Rowland Heights
Rowland Heights, a community in Los Angeles County, California, will host a public wellness event for local residents. The Diabetes Awareness & Wellness Day, hosted by Lions Clubs International District 4-L2, is set for Saturday, November 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Peter Schabarum Regional Park. The date is World Diabetes Day, and the event will promote diabetes prevention and healthy living through themed outreach activities.
World Diabetes Day falls on November 14 each year, and diabetes is one of Lions Clubs International's global service causes; Lions have long partnered with the International Diabetes Federation to promote diabetes screening and awareness in communities worldwide. District 4-L2 serves communities across eastern Los Angeles County and the San Gabriel Valley, and is bringing this year's awareness event to a neighborhood park, open to surrounding residents.
The event is led by the District 4-L2 leadership team: District Governor Jany Huang, First Vice District Governor Imelda Beltran and Second Vice District Governor Mary Contreras. The organizing committee is chaired by Furong Zhang, with GST Jenny Chia as co-chair and Cindy Leung as vice chair. An entertainment team of Queenie Liu, Cici Zou and Iris Ho will handle the on-site entertainment program.
Fourteen Lions clubs are sponsoring the event, including the LA Royal Lions Club, the Temple City Centennial Lions Club, the San Gabriel Taiwanese Lions Club, the Monrovia Lions Club and the LA Dynasty Lions Club. Co-organizers include Thunder Express Charity, the Beijing Association of America, the American Chinese Food Culture Association, the World Sunshine Women Association and the Taiwan Sports Association of America, with uconnect Wireless as supporter.
The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, at Peter Schabarum Regional Park, 17250 Colima Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748.
