跟进：西兰花芽沙门氏菌疫情结案：六州34人感染，FDA确认源头为新西兰进口种子批次

美国食品药品监管局（FDA）11月4日更新通报，疾病控制与预防中心（CDC）宣布与西兰花芽有关的沙门氏菌疫情已经结束，FDA的调查就此完成。这起疫情共报告34人感染，分布在六个州，发病日期为2026年7月7日至9月11日，其中3人住院、无人死亡。

GSM此前报道，这起疫情10月初通报时为六州32人感染，涉事种子批次被锁定为W4105。本次结案通报给出的最终数字为34人。在接受访谈的30名患者中，29人（97%）发病前吃过芽菜或微型菜苗，25人明确吃过西兰花芽，1人吃过含西兰花苗的混合微型菜苗。

FDA与州级合作方在调查中采集了西兰花芽和西兰花种子样本。华盛顿州与蒙大拿州卫生官员采集的Evergreen Fresh Sprouts品牌西兰花芽样本检出沙门氏菌，全基因组测序结果与致病菌株一致；FDA从美国国内种子供应商处采集的种子样本同样检出同一菌株。追溯结果显示，涉事西兰花种子最初从新西兰进口，国内供应商已召回该批次，多家下游企业随后接连召回。

已召回的种子包括Gardeners Basics的Waltham 29西兰花催芽种子（1磅装，UPC 848137042889）、Eden Brothers的calabrese西兰花种子（批次1022067与1022068）以及Home Grown绿色催芽calabrese西兰花种子（8盎司装，批次码AUG172026，经亚马逊销售）。涉事西兰花芽均已过保质期、不再销售。

FDA同时指出，召回种子的保质期较长，可能仍存放在消费者家中。消费者、餐厅与零售商应检查家中与库存，不要使用已召回的西兰花种子，并对接触过召回芽菜或种子的表面与容器彻底清洁消毒；食用召回芽菜或接触召回种子后出现沙门氏菌感染症状的，应联系医疗机构。沙门氏菌感染通常在进食受污染食物后12至72小时发病，症状包括腹泻、发烧与腹痛，一般持续四至七天。

Follow-Up: Broccoli Sprout Salmonella Outbreak Declared Over: 34 Sickened in Six States, FDA Traces Source to Imported Seed Lot from New Zealand

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a November 4 update that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared the Salmonella outbreak linked to broccoli sprouts over, and that the FDA's investigation is complete. A total of 34 people infected with the outbreak strain were reported from six states, with illness onset dates ranging from July 7 to September 11, 2026. There were three hospitalizations and no deaths.

GSM previously reported that the outbreak stood at 32 cases in six states in early October, with seed lot W4105 identified as the suspect lot. The final case count is 34. Of the 30 people interviewed, 29 (97%) reported eating sprouts or microgreens, 25 reported specifically eating broccoli sprouts, and one reported eating a microgreen mix containing broccoli microgreens.

During the investigation, the FDA and state partners collected samples of broccoli sprouts and broccoli seeds. Evergreen Fresh Sprouts-brand broccoli sprout samples collected by Washington state and Montana state health officials tested positive for Salmonella and matched the outbreak strain by whole genome sequencing, and broccoli seed samples the FDA collected from the domestic seed supplier also matched. Traceback showed the broccoli seeds were originally imported from New Zealand; the domestic supplier recalled the lot, and several downstream companies followed with their own recalls.

The recalled seeds include Gardeners Basics Waltham 29 Broccoli Sprouting Seeds (1-pound pouch, UPC 848137042889), Eden Brothers calabrese broccoli seeds (lots 1022067 and 1022068), and Home Grown green sprouting calabrese broccoli seeds (8-ounce, lot code AUG172026, sold on Amazon). All affected broccoli sprouts are past expiration and no longer available for sale.

The FDA noted that the recalled seeds have a long shelf life and may still be in consumers' homes. Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should check their homes and storage, should not use the recalled broccoli seeds, and should carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers the recalled sprouts or seeds touched. Anyone who develops symptoms resembling a Salmonella infection after eating recalled sprouts or handling recalled seeds should contact a health care provider. Salmonella symptoms usually begin 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food, include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps, and typically last four to seven days.
