环保署对Ormet超级基金场地开展第六次五年审查：公众意见征集至2027年2月1日
美国环保署（EPA）11 月 4 日宣布，正在对 Ormet 公司超级基金场地开展第六次五年审查。该场地位于俄亥俄州 Monroe County、Ohio River 沿岸的 7 号州道旁，在 Hannibal 市以北约 3 英里处。
超级基金法要求，对已经完成清理、或清理已持续至少五年且废物仍在场内管理的场地定期「体检」，以确认清理措施仍在持续保护人体健康与环境。本次是该场地的第六次五年审查，环保署表示，这也是公众就场地状况与关切向环保署反映意见的机会。
该场地的清理工程包括：开挖受多氯联苯（PCB）污染的土壤与沉积物并置入场内封存单元、建造填埋场封盖、在一处原废物储存区安装冲洗系统、进行地下水抽提与处理、开展长期监测与维护，并限制场地的使用与进入。

EPA Begins Sixth Five-Year Review of Ormet Corp. Superfund Site: Public Comments Due by February 1, 2027
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on November 4 that it is conducting the sixth five-year review of the Ormet Corp. Superfund site in Monroe County, Ohio. The site sits along the Ohio River on State Route 7, approximately three miles north of the city of Hannibal.
The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up, or where cleanup has been ongoing for at least five years with waste managed on-site, to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment. This is the sixth five-year review of the site, and the EPA says it is an opportunity for the public to tell the agency about site conditions and any concerns.
Cleanup at the site included excavating soils and sediment contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, and placing them in an on-site containment cell, building a landfill cap, installing a flushing system on a former waste storage area, performing groundwater extraction and treatment, conducting long-term monitoring and maintenance, and limiting the use of and access to the site.
The review is expected to be completed in April 2027, and comments are due by February 1, 2027.
