中国外交部回应美国中期选举：中期选举是美国内政 愿同美方落实两国元首共识
2026年11月4日，中国外交部发言人毛宁在北京主持例行记者会。《纽约时报》记者在会上问及中方如何看待美国正在进行的中期选举、以及选举对中美关系的影响，毛宁在回答中作出上述表态。
毛宁表示，中期选举是美国内政。她说，中方愿继续同美方一道，维护好、落实好两国元首重要共识，加强沟通，妥处分歧，拓展合作，构建基于尊重、公平、对等的中美建设性战略稳定关系。

China Foreign Ministry Responds to US Midterm Elections: Calls Vote a US Internal Affair, Seeks to Implement Leaders' Consensus
On November 4, 2026, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press briefing in Beijing. A New York Times reporter asked how China views the ongoing US midterm elections and their impact on China-US relations, and Mao Ning gave the response above.
Mao Ning said the midterm elections are an internal affair of the United States. She said China is willing to continue working with the US side to uphold and implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen communication, properly handle differences, expand cooperation, and build a constructive strategic stability relationship between China and the United States based on respect, fairness and reciprocity.
The US midterm elections were held on November 3. According to the Associated Press, the Democratic Party won control of both the House and the Senate in the elections. The briefing came as results were still being announced, and the Chinese Foreign Ministry's response did not mention any party or candidate, addressing only the principles of China-US relations.
