Eunice Man Sentenced to 42 Months for Ammunition and False ID Possession: Unfinished Ghost Gun and 25 Rounds Found at His Home
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana announced that Henry Nicola Meyer, 26, of Eunice, Louisiana, has been sentenced to 42 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of five or more false identification documents. United States District Judge David C. Joseph imposed the sentence on October 29, 2026, in Lafayette; Meyer had pleaded guilty on July 9, 2026.
According to court documents, on October 9, 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Eunice Police Department executed a Louisiana search warrant at Meyer's residence while he was on probation. In a padlocked bedroom, agents found a partially constructed homemade, unregistered firearm, known as a ghost gun, and 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition. Meyer admitted possessing the ammunition and acknowledged he was a convicted felon prohibited from doing so. Agents also recovered eight high-quality fake driver's licenses bearing Meyer's photograph, purporting to be from Kentucky, Alaska, Colorado, and Georgia; Meyer admitted he knew the licenses were fraudulent and intended to use them unlawfully to misrepresent his identity.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller made the announcement. The FBI and the Eunice Police Department investigated the case, prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, the Department of Justice's nationwide initiative against violent crime, under Case No. 6:26-CR-00136.
