UMD Defenseman Ty Hanson Named NCHC Defenseman of the Month for October
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced on November 4 that University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey defenseman Ty Hanson was named its Defenseman of the Month for October. Hanson, a junior from Hermantown, Minnesota, led the league with eight goals in October, including three power-play goals, and was tied for the league lead with 14 points. He earned NCHC Defenseman of the Week honors three times in the month's four weeks. This weekend the Duluth Bulldogs host Miami University (Ohio) at AMSOIL Arena, with games at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday. The team said Hanson's steady production was a key part of its strong October and hopes home ice will help extend the run. Fans can check the team's official channels for ticket and broadcast information.
