Kodak Black Appears to Collapse During Tampa Show: Five-Song Set Ends Early, Cause Still Unclear
In Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida, 29-year-old rapper Kodak Black suddenly fell to the stage during a Halloween-night performance on October 31, and video of the moment later circulated on social media, leaving fans concerned. According to Baller Alert, AllHipHop and other outlets, the incident happened at the Nightmare on Channelside concert at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, a bill that also featured Meek Mill and DaBaby, among others. Kodak Black's set ran from about 12:20 a.m. to 12:35 a.m., after midnight.
In the circulating footage, Kodak Black is standing onstage when he suddenly drops to the floor and makes several abrupt movements, as crew members and security rush toward him while the music keeps playing. He performed only five songs in the brief set, 'Versatile,' 'Skrilla,' 'ZEZE,' 'Roll in Peace' and 'Skrt,' and the performance then ended early. Baller Alert reported that he eventually got back to his feet, laughed and danced as fans cheered.
In reports published through November 2, neither Kodak Black's camp nor the venue had publicly explained what caused the fall. The footage does not show what led up to it and does not establish what caused the movements that followed. Baller Alert noted specifically that there is currently no verified evidence connecting substance use to what happened during the Halloween performance. Kodak Black has spoken publicly in the past about his struggles with the prescription painkiller Percocet, but none of the reports linked that history to this incident.
Some viewers online have questioned whether the moment was genuine. As of November 3, there had been no official statement confirming either a medical emergency or a staged moment. Concern among fans continued on social media, and Kodak Black himself had not publicly addressed the incident.
