Yo-Yo Ma Plays Shostakovich with the Chicago Symphony for One Night Only, November 11
Orchestra Hall at Chicago Symphony Center (220 S. Michigan Ave) in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, hosts a one-night-only concert on November 11 at 7:30 p.m.: cellist Yo-Yo Ma joins the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto.
Ma plays Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1, a work that holds a special place for him; Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances completes the program. Prieto, a frequent Chicago guest, has called music a bridge between societies.
