加拿大：国际发展国务秘书Sarai任命前驻联合国大使Bob Rae为国际发展研究中心董事会主席
加拿大全球事务部11月2日在渥太华宣布，国际发展国务秘书 Randeep Sarai 任命 Bob Rae 为国际发展研究中心（IDRC）董事会主席。Rae 近期担任加拿大常驻联合国大使兼代表，期间推动了人道主义、发展与全球治理方面的国际合作。
全球事务部说，Rae 拥有外交、公共服务与政治领域的资深经历，包括曾任安大略省省长与加拿大自由党临时党领。他对多边合作与循证决策的投入，与 IDRC 支持有助于全球可持续发展的研究与创新的使命契合。
Sarai 说：「在全球挑战要求协作、创新与强有力领导之时，我很高兴欢迎 Bob Rae 出任 IDRC 董事会主席。」IDRC 总裁 Julie Delahanty 表示，Rae 的领导力、国际经验与对循证决策的坚持，将为中心投资研究与创新、与低收入和中等收入国家建立互利伙伴关系的工作带来宝贵洞见。
Canada: Secretary of State Sarai Appoints Former UN Ambassador Bob Rae as Chair of the International Development Research Centre Board
Global Affairs Canada announced in Ottawa on November 2 that Randeep Sarai, Secretary of State for International Development, has appointed Bob Rae as chairperson of the Board of Governors of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Rae recently served as ambassador and permanent representative of Canada to the United Nations, where he helped advance international cooperation on humanitarian, development and global governance issues.
Drawing on a distinguished career in diplomacy, public service and politics, including as premier of Ontario and as interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Rae brings extensive leadership experience to the role. His commitment to multilateral cooperation and evidence-based policy making aligns closely with the IDRC's mission of supporting research and innovation that contribute to sustainable development around the world, the department said.
"At a time when global challenges demand collaboration, innovation and strong leadership, I am pleased to welcome Bob Rae as chairperson of the Board of Governors of the IDRC," Sarai said. IDRC President Julie Delahanty said Rae's leadership, international experience and commitment to evidence-based policy making will bring valuable insights as the centre invests in research and innovation and builds partnerships that contribute to a more prosperous, sustainable and resilient world.
