The Los Angeles Lakers host the Miami Heat at Crypto.com Arena on November 2, with tipoff at 7 p.m. PT. The Lakers are 5-2 and playing the second night of a back-to-back; the Heat are 2-4 but have won two straight after an 0-4 start.
Los Angeles beat Toronto 131-125 on Sunday behind Luka Doncic's 45 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Doncic leads the league in scoring at 36.2 points per game, with 7.6 assists and 6.8 rebounds. Miami routed Indiana 145-125 in its last game, as Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a triple-double of 31 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists, Bam Adebayo added 27 points and Klay Thompson hit seven three-pointers for 25. Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.2 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists this season.
Before the game, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and Adebayo both addressed the challenge of guarding Doncic; Spoelstra said Doncic creates an entire defensive coverage by himself in the pick-and-roll, while Adebayo said the plan is simply to make him take difficult shots. For the Lakers, Ziaire Williams and Adou Thiero are out; Miami's Tim Hardaway Jr. is questionable for personal reasons.
