The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square Opens November 4 for the Winter Season
The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square in San Francisco, California, opens for the season on November 4 and runs through January 18, 2027.
Set beside the Union Square holiday tree, the outdoor rink is the starting gun of downtown San Francisco's holiday season: family skating by day and, after dark, a glide among the lights and towers. Sessions are sold by time slot, and advance online booking is recommended, especially on weekends and during Christmas week.
Admission is $22 including skate rental, per the rink's published pricing; see the website for lockers and session rules. BART and Muni Metro to Powell Street station put the rink a short walk away.
