Solvang Julefest Brings a Month of Danish Christmas to Solvang from November 27
Solvang, the Danish-style village in Santa Barbara County, California, opens its annual Julefest on November 27, running through January 3, 2027.
The month is packed: a light-and-music show plays on the hour from 5 to 9:00 p.m. nightly in Solvang Park (1630 Mission Dr); the Christmas tree lighting ceremony is December 4 at 5:30 p.m. in Solvang Park with ballet and caroling; the Julefest Parade follows December 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with more than 400 participants; Wednesday maker's markets and a Copenhagen Countdown on New Year's Eve round out the calendar. Oprah Daily has listed Solvang among the world's most magical Christmas towns.
The tree lighting, parade and park light shows are free; individually ticketed events are marked on the official calendar. Weekend parking in town fills early.
