印度海得拉巴警方捣毁跨邦非法捐卵团伙：43名妇女获救、9人被捕

Hyderabad Police Bust Interstate Illegal Egg-Donation Racket: 43 Women Rescued and 9 Arrested
Police in Hyderabad, in India's Telangana state, raided multiple premises on October 30-31 and dismantled an interstate illegal egg-donation racket, rescuing 43 women and arresting nine suspects. Hyderabad's Malkajgiri Commissionerate said the Begumpet and Saroornagar police, working with its Special Operations Team, searched locations including Prakash Nagar, Begumpet, Erragadda, Saroornagar and Gopalapuram.
Investigators said recruiters targeted economically vulnerable women with offers of 20,000 to 30,000 rupees per egg-donation cycle. The rescued women came from states including West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Officers seized hormone injections, syringes, tablets, mobile phones and documents, and said organisers earned far more from each procedure than the women were paid.
Those arrested include Amit Sharma, 44, from Madhya Pradesh, identified as a suspected principal organiser, and Emirishetty Durga Prasad, who ran a women's hostel used by the network. All nine were remanded to judicial custody. Three cases have been registered at the Begumpet and Saroornagar police stations under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and India's Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, which sets legal safeguards on egg donation.
The probe is widening. Police say they are examining whether records at multiple IVF centres link them to the network and are tracing commissions and bank transfers; whether any fertility centres knowingly facilitated the scheme has not been established. Police said they intervened before the egg-retrieval stage, and the rescued women have undergone medical examinations. The allegations remain under investigation and have not been tested in court.
