Dustin Lynch Releases Seventh Album 'Clean Slate' With Title-Track Video
Country singer Dustin Lynch released his seventh studio album, 'Clean Slate,' on October 30 through BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. The 12-track collection arrived with an official music video for its title track.
The album is anchored by 'Clean Slate,' written by Johnny Simpson, Jeremy Dussolliet, Tim Sommers, James Abrahart and Jackson Foote and produced by Ross Copperman — a slow-building reflection on losing your way and wondering whether it is too late to find your way back. 'There's something compelling about the idea of a clean slate that signifies and promises a new chapter. I think we've all had moments where we look at our lives and wonder how we got to where we are,' Lynch said. 'What I love about this song is that it is a hard look in the mirror. That felt like the right message to build this album around.'
The other tracks range across the relationships and experiences that have shaped him: 'Made In A Bottle,' chasing relief from a lost love one bar at a time; 'How You Been,' an up-tempo duet with Ashley Cooke that revisits a summer romance through a phone call — a song Lynch has described as a second chapter to his 4x Platinum hit 'Thinking 'Bout You'; and the closing 'Home To You,' a dance-driven collaboration with electronic duo MC4D. Lynch contributed to eight of the 12 tracks, with production shared by Ross Copperman, Zach Crowell and Austin Shawn, and MC4D producing the closing track.
The album arrives on a career tally of 10 No. 1 hits, four Top 5 albums, 12 RIAA-certified singles and more than 5 billion cumulative global streams. Earlier this year Lynch marked those milestones with 'Setlist Staples – 10 #1's,' a collection of his chart-toppers, alongside new RIAA certifications for songs including 'Small Town Boy' and 'Thinking 'Bout You.'
