Lexington Catholic Sweeps Kentucky Class 2A Cross-Country Titles: Second Straight for Boys, Sixth for Girls
Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky — Lexington Catholic High School swept the team titles at the Class 2A state cross-country championships at the Kentucky Horse Park on October 31, the boys winning a second straight crown and the girls a sixth straight.
The boys' individual title went to Union County's Thomas Davis in 15:45.78, the first state cross-country champion in his school's history. North Oldham's boys climbed from seventh in last year's 3A meet to second in 2A, with Oliver Wells sixth in 16:19.17 and all five of the team's scorers inside the top 35.
Classification changes reshuffled many places this year, but Lexington Catholic held off the field in both races with steady team depth.
