Police did not reveal any description of the suspected shooter and did not confirm whether there was more than one suspect. A motive behind the shooting was not revealed.
The temporary Halloween store was open and filled with customers when the shooting began. One witness told KCRA that his wife heard shots inside the store as people ran, yelled and cried, and another witness said roughly seven shots were heard.
