Film: Netflix Releases The Hunchback, Soul of Paris Official Trailer: Vincent Cassel Plays a Hunted Quasimodo, Streaming November 27
Netflix released the official trailer and poster for the French drama The Hunchback, Soul of Paris on October 30. The film will stream worldwide on Netflix on November 27.
The film is a dark reimagining of Quasimodo from Victor Hugo's 1831 novel Notre-Dame de Paris, drawn from the real hunchbacked stonemason believed to have inspired the character. Set in Paris in 1830, amid a cholera epidemic and revolutionary unrest, the hunchbacked stonemason is said to be immune to cholera, and the authorities hunt him down to use him as a medical experiment subject.
Directed by Jean-François Richet, the film stars Vincent Cassel as Quasimodo, Karim Leklou as the police chief, Daphné Patakia and Benjamin Voisin. It runs 1 hour 43 minutes.
