Tennessee ACA Open Enrollment for 2027 Coverage Runs Nov. 1 to Jan. 15: Enroll by Dec. 15 for Jan. 1 Coverage
In Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) reminded consumers on October 29 that Open Enrollment for 2027 individual health coverage on the Federally Facilitated Marketplace runs from Sunday, November 1, 2026, to Friday, January 15, 2027, and urged Tennesseans to begin reviewing and planning as early as possible to avoid missing deadlines.
Three dates matter: on November 1, enrollment opens and consumers can enroll in, renew or change Marketplace plans; December 15 is the last day to enroll or change plans for coverage starting January 1, 2027; and on January 15, 2027, Open Enrollment ends, with plans selected by then starting February 1, 2027. Once Open Enrollment closes, consumers can generally enroll only after a qualifying life event.
On HealthCare.gov, Tennesseans can search for ACA-compliant products on the individual and small-group markets for each of Tennessee's eight rating areas and calculate applicable tax credits, or call 1-800-318-2596. Trained Navigators provide free, unbiased enrollment advice. Questions about insurance rates can be directed to TDCI's Consumer Insurance Services division at (615) 741-2218.
TDCI reminded consumers to review premiums, deductibles, copays and cost-sharing, to ask carriers about their plans, and to check each carrier's networks for their preferred providers and hospitals, contacting providers directly to confirm in-network status. The Department said it conducts a full rate review using contracted actuaries to ensure rates are actuarially justified and neither excessive, inadequate nor unfairly discriminatory, and that all rates remain subject to change based on requirements from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
