夏威夷州檀香山市夏威夷大学《海洋之声》系列10月30日获地区艾美奖：西北夏威夷群岛海洋垃圾一集夺环境科学长片奖
夏威夷州檀香山市县檀香山市，夏威夷大学10月30日宣布，由夏威夷大学海洋赠地项目制作的电视系列《海洋之声》凭借“帕帕哈瑙莫夸基亚海洋垃圾项目”一集获得地区艾美奖，奖项类别为环境与科学新闻长片内容。
这一集把镜头对准普通人一生难得一见的西北夏威夷群岛，记录清理人员在偏远岛屿与海域清除大量塑料垃圾的艰辛工作，同时呈现当地野生动物与这片土地对夏威夷社区的神圣文化意义。
主持兼制片人卡内萨·邓肯·塞拉芬说，这集的核心是“马拉马艾纳”，即夏威夷人守护滋养自己的土地。制片人索尔·塞拉芬、邓肯·塞拉芬与项目摄影记者安德鲁·沙利文-哈斯金斯近日领取了奖杯，奖项由美国电视艺术与科学学院旧金山与北加州分会颁发，该分会覆盖夏威夷与关岛。

University of Hawaii's 'Voice of the Sea' Wins Regional Emmy on October 30 for Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Marine Debris Episode
Honolulu, Hawaii — The University of Hawaii announced on October 30 that "Voice of the Sea," the television series produced by the University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program, has won a regional Emmy Award for its episode "Papahanaumokuakea Marine Debris Project," in the category of Environment/Science — News / Long Form Content.
The episode takes viewers to the remote Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, which most people will never visit, and documents the demanding work of crews removing massive amounts of plastic pollution from the islands and waters, while presenting the local wildlife and the sacred cultural significance of the place to Hawaiian communities.
Host and producer Kanesa Duncan Seraphin said the episode's heart is "malama aina" — people in Hawaii caring for the places that sustain them. Producer Thor Seraphin, Duncan Seraphin and project photojournalist Andrew Sullivan-Haskins recently received their statuettes. The award came from the San Francisco/Northern California chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which includes Hawaii and Guam.
The series has more than 70 award-winning episodes, with honors including Emmys and Tellys. "Voice of the Sea" airs on KFVE on Saturdays and Sundays at 6 p.m., and episodes are also available on the series website.
