夏令时11月1日凌晨结束：密歇根州消防部门提醒拨回时钟时同步测试烟雾与一氧化碳报警器
夏令时将于11月1日（周日）凌晨2时结束，时钟拨回一小时。密歇根州许可与监管事务部（LARA）10月29日发布提醒：居民在拨钟时，应同步测试家中的烟雾报警器与一氧化碳报警器是否正常工作。
据该部统计，密歇根州今年以来已发生超过14,500起建筑火灾，其中住宅火灾8,118起；截至10月9日，全州已有63人在55起致命火灾中丧生。
美国国家消防协会（NFPA）的数据显示，近五分之三的住宅火灾死亡发生在没有烟雾报警器、或报警器不能正常工作的住宅中；正常工作的烟雾报警器能显著降低火灾死亡风险。
消防部门建议：每个卧室、每个睡区外侧以及住宅每一层（包括地下室）都应安装烟雾报警器；每月测试一次；烟雾报警器每10年整体更换；一氧化碳报警器按厂商说明更换，一般为5至10年。
LARA部长马龙·布朗（Marlon I. Brown）与州消防局长汤姆·休斯（Tom Hughes）表示，拨钟日是检查报警器的固定提醒点，花几分钟测试，可能在火灾发生时救下一家人的性命。
Daylight Saving Time Ends November 1: Michigan Fire Officials Urge Residents to Test Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms When the Clocks Go Back
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, when clocks go back one hour. Michigan's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) issued a reminder on October 29: when residents change their clocks, they should also test the smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms in their homes.
The department said Michigan has recorded more than 14,500 structure fires this year, including 8,118 residential fires, and that as of October 9 the state had seen 63 fire deaths in 55 fatal incidents.
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), nearly three out of five home fire deaths occur in homes with no smoke alarms or with alarms that do not work, while working smoke alarms significantly cut the risk of dying in a home fire.
Fire officials advise installing smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home including the basement; testing them monthly; replacing smoke alarms every 10 years; and replacing carbon monoxide alarms according to the manufacturer's instructions, generally every 5 to 10 years.
LARA Director Marlon I. Brown and State Fire Marshal Tom Hughes said the clock change is a built-in reminder to check alarms, and that a few minutes of testing can save a family's lives if a fire starts.
