Netflix Renews 'The Diplomat' for Season 5 After Season 4's G7 Cliffhanger
Netflix has renewed the political thriller 'The Diplomat' for a fifth season, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter reported on October 29.
Created and run by Debora Cahn, the series stars Keri Russell as U.S. Ambassador to the U.K. Kate Wyler and Rufus Sewell as her husband, Hal. Season 4 premiered on October 15 and ended with a dramatic scene at the G7 summit, leaving the careers of several long-running characters in question.
Cahn recently told The Hollywood Reporter she is not yet nearing the end of the story. Reaching a fifth season is a relatively long run in the streaming era.
Production and premiere dates for Season 5 have not been announced.
