Dallas Four-Deuce Oakland Crips Member Jamarian Hewitt Sentenced to 447 Months for Drug Trafficking and Firearms Offenses

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas announced that Jamarian Hewitt, 39, of Dallas, Texas, a member of the Four-Deuce Oakland Crips gang and a repeat felon, was sentenced on October 28, 2026, to 447 months in federal prison — more than 37 years — for drug and gun charges.

In April 2026, a federal jury convicted Hewitt of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, using a communication facility to facilitate a drug felony, and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance. U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr imposed the sentence.

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said that for years, residents along the Malcolm X corridor lived with the fear and lawlessness that Hewitt and his gang helped create, and that Hewitt turned a storefront into a hub for drugs and guns while on probation and out on bond. He said the sentence of more than 37 years sends a clear message that those who terrorize neighborhoods with drugs and firearms will face serious federal consequences, and he commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Dallas Police Department.

The case grew out of Operation Blue Laces, launched by ATF agents in January 2024 to identify gang members engaged in criminal activity at two main intersections along the Malcolm X Boulevard corridor in Dallas, after numerous complaints from residents and workers who reported that Four-Deuce Oakland Crips members had taken over the area and openly threatened residents and businesses.

Agents identified multiple storefronts operated by gang members that were used to store numerous firearms and distribute drugs, as well as a residential block — the 2800 block of Casey Street — used as an open-air drug market where drugs were sold around the clock, known as the Dead End.

At trial, evidence showed Hewitt used a commercial storefront called Exotic Pop South Dallas to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, codeine, prescription drugs and marijuana marketed as Zillionaire Marijuana to customers daily. On October 22, 2024, agents searched the storefront on S. Malcolm X Blvd. and recovered one kilogram of methamphetamine, distribution quantities of marijuana and prescription pills, and multiple firearms used in furtherance of the drug conspiracy. At Hewitt's residence, agents recovered an additional fourteen pounds of marijuana, multiple prescription pills and ammunition.

At sentencing, the court heard evidence of Hewitt's extensive criminal history, including convictions for aggravated promotion of prostitution of a minor, money laundering, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, assault of a family member, and assault on a peace officer. At the time of the drug conspiracy, he was on felony probation in Kaufman and Tarrant Counties and out on bond in Dallas County.

To date, twelve defendants linked to the Four-Deuce Oakland Crips who were identified in Operation Blue Laces have been convicted of federal offenses including drug conspiracy, firearms charges and carjacking. The ATF Dallas Division and the Dallas Police Department investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Rick Calvert and Ashley Koos prosecuted it.
