The Chicago Bears announced at about 8:30 p.m. Eastern on October 29 that they have acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans, with head coach Ben Johnson and general manager Ryan Poles issuing statements welcoming Simmons and his family to Chicago and thanking the Titans for their cooperation. Chicago sends first-round picks in 2027 and 2028 and a fourth-round pick in 2027, receiving Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick.
Simmons is a three-time Associated Press All-Pro, now in his eighth season and still at his peak: last season he set a career high with 11 sacks and was named First Team All-Pro for the first time, after two Second Team selections in 2021 and 2022.
