Sean P. Duffy
(Safe Streets and Roads for All,SS4A)补助计划拨付,是该部依据《国家道路安全战略》减少全国道路交通死亡与受伤工作的一部分。
$1.01 Billion for 297 Projects: Transportation Department Announces Safer Infrastructure Investment Covering All 50 States
Washington — The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) announced on October 29 that Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy is investing $1,012,969,919 — about $1.01 billion — for 297 projects in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Tribal lands that will make roads safer for American families, according to the department's press release.
The investment targets four areas: upgrading hazardous intersections, eliminating dangerous railroad crossings, expanding truck parking, and strengthening emergency response services. The package also includes $335 million to support post-crash care and pre-hospital blood transfusion capabilities.
"Under President Trump, we're making America's roads safer than ever. This historic investment doubles down on our progress by equipping communities with the infrastructure and programs necessary to continue saving lives," Secretary Sean P. Duffy said in the release. "We're also making major investments in the truckers' quality of life by reversing the nation's severe parking shortage."
Project highlights among the 297 grants include $28.7 million for Lexington County, South Carolina, to strengthen post-crash care capabilities, implement at-grade highway-rail crossing safety improvements, and improve roadway infrastructure across four high-injury networks; and $17.5 million for Williamson County, Texas, to implement pedestrian safety improvements at 53 high-risk crossing locations across the county and the cities of Cedar Park, Hutto, and Liberty Hill.
The City of Acworth, Georgia, will receive $13.7 million to improve safety and emergency response times on Nance Road, Acworth Summit Boulevard, and Acworth Due West Road by installing roundabouts, dedicated turn lanes, modernized traffic signals, and drainage and pavement improvements. The City of Columbus, Ohio, will receive $3.2 million to establish a post-crash care program improving emergency response times and trauma care, including citywide deployment of prehospital blood transfusions. The City of Fort Collins, Colorado, will receive $5.2 million for safety improvements on a 2.5-mile segment of Shields Street, stronger post-crash care capabilities, and a truck parking study addressing the I-25 shortage.
The department said the investment is made through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program and builds on its work under the National Roadway Safety Strategy to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries. The SS4A program offers two types of grants: Planning and Demonstration Grants, which support developing a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan, and Implementation Grants, which fund projects aligned with an existing Action Plan.
Recipients are selected through a collaborative process led by the department with experts from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The department also said Secretary Duffy announced in April 2025 that the SS4A program had been retooled to remove DEI and environmental justice requirements installed by the previous administration. The full list of the 297 selected projects is published by the department.
