On jobs, the agenda includes workforce programs such as City Academy, aligning training with local employer demand.
Lurie said affordability is not a slogan but the daily arithmetic of rent, fares, childcare bills and wages, and that the agenda is designed to move on all of them at once rather than solving only one. The mayor's office said the zoning changes will go to the Board of Supervisors through the normal legislative process, with related budget measures to follow in the city's fiscal planning.
San Francisco remains one of California's most expensive housing markets, and the Family Zoning Plan has been a focus of debate at the Board and in neighborhoods: supporters call added housing the fundamental answer to high rents, while community groups are pressing for tenant and small-business protections alongside new construction. The city said community briefings will continue during the legislative process.
