FBI Raids Beverly Hills Mansion on October 27, Reportedly Tied to Swalwell Investigation
Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County, California: The FBI raided a Beverly Hills mansion on the morning of October 27 in an action connected to the investigation into former U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell, according to the New York Post and the Daily Caller, citing law enforcement sources.
The search reportedly targeted the home of billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, who had strongly backed Swalwell’s run for governor before cutting ties with him after sexual assault allegations surfaced. Swalwell has repeatedly denied wrongdoing; in August, federal agents stopped him at San Francisco International Airport and seized his phone and laptop.
This account is based on media reporting citing unnamed sources; the FBI has not issued a public statement about the search.
