War Department Contracts for Oct. 27: DLA Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor Awards Total $3.73 Billion; Boeing Wins $499.8 Million Apache Engineering Modification
The U.S. Department of War published its daily contracts list on Oct. 27. The Defense Logistics Agency awarded a new round of contracts under its medical/surgical prime vendor program: six contracts totaling about $3.73 billion went to Cardinal Health, McKesson and Concordance Healthcare Solutions to supply medical and surgical products to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies, with an ordering period running through Dec. 6, 2029.
Cardinal Health, headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, received three of the six awards — $1,500,444,621, $1,115,633,464 and $82,388,528. McKesson received one award of $741,496,756, and Concordance Healthcare Solutions received two, of $166,716,069 and $123,959,274. All six are five-year contracts with no option periods, with performance in Ohio, Virginia and Missouri, among other locations.
Other large awards announced the same day included a $499,760,655 Army contract modification to Boeing for Apache helicopter engineering services and logistics support; a $151,462,808 Air Force task order to Accenture Federal Services for the ICBM FENCES program; a $100,000,000 Navy architecture and engineering contract to the HKS WSP joint venture; and a $32,338,000 Navy global telecommunications services modification to Verizon.
