三位新卡司中，查理·韦斯莱是韦斯莱家的二子、在罗马尼亚从事驯龙工作，这一角色在原版电影中从未有真人出场镜头，仅在《哈利·波特与阿兹卡班的囚徒》里的一张全家福照片中出现过，此次将是他首次由演员正式饰演。詹姆斯与莉莉·波特是哈利的父母，在原作中多以闪回与照片形式出现。

HBO announced a new round of casting for its Harry Potter series on October 27: Harry Gilby will play Charlie Weasley, Jasper Talbot will play Harry's father James Potter, and Hannah Chinn will play Harry's mother Lily Potter. Season 1, adapting Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, premieres December 25, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max. (GSM, based on HBO's official announcement)
Of the three, Charlie Weasley, the second Weasley son who works with dragons in Romania, was never portrayed by an actor in an on-screen scene in the original films, appearing only in a family photograph in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; this will be the character's first full portrayal. James and Lily Potter, Harry's parents, appear in the books largely through flashbacks and photographs.
Previously announced cast members include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, with John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Snape and Nick Frost as Hagrid. The series is written and run by Francesca Gardiner and directed by Mark Mylod.
