BROOKINGS, Brookings County, South Dakota — South Dakota State University announced on October 27 that its Ness School of Management and Economics will be elevated to the Ness College of Management and Economics on July 1, 2027, separating from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and reporting directly to Provost Dennis Hedge.
The university said the school's fall 2026 enrollment was 1,342 students (duplicated count), nearly double its size of seven years ago, and that the elevation reflects that growth.
