Walton County, Florida Homeowner Holds Suspected Car Burglar at Gunpoint in Early Hours of October 27; 25-Year-Old Arrested
Inlet Beach, Walton County, Florida — The Walton County Sheriff's Office says that just after 3:30 a.m. on October 27, deputies responding to a report of a burglary in progress on Quail Hollow Court in Inlet Beach found a homeowner holding a suspected car burglar at gunpoint, and took the man into custody. The suspect, 25-year-old Tyler Mack Maroney, also known as Tyler Mack Morris, of Panama City, was booked into the Walton County jail on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, burglary, wearing a mask while committing a felony, grand theft and obstruction, and additional charges could be forthcoming. The sheriff's office said that as of Tuesday afternoon it had taken numerous reports of items stolen from vehicles on both Quail Hollow Court and Golfridge Drive, and asked possible victims to call (850) 892-8111. The charges are accusations, and the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
