Arizona Senator Dunn Proposes State's First Colorado River Commission to Represent It in Water Talks
In Yuma, Yuma County, Arizona, State Senator Tim Dunn, a Republican from Yuma, says he will introduce legislation when the legislature reconvenes next year to create Arizona's first Colorado River Commission to represent the state in negotiations over the river's water.
The Center Square reported on October 26 that lawmakers reacted with mixed views, and state Department of Water Resources Director Tom Buschatzke did not comment. The Colorado River is a vital water source for Arizona and several Southwestern states, which are negotiating new sharing arrangements.
