Watson's Acquires Tampa Bay Spa Chain, Adding Three Stores in Tampa and Elsewhere to Enter the Tampa Bay Market
Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida — According to an announcement released on October 26, Watson's, the largest home recreation products retailer in the United States, announced its acquisition of the Tampa Bay Spas chain, officially entering the Tampa Bay market. The acquisition adds three stores, located in Tampa, Lakeland and Brandon, which are expected to rebrand as Watson's over the next six months. Founded in 1968, Watson's now has 42 stores nationwide after the acquisition, seven of them in Florida. Chief Executive Officer Erik Mueller said entering the Tampa Bay market is an important step in the company's Florida expansion, that Tampa Bay Spas has a solid local foundation, and that the company welcomes the existing team aboard. Dave Corson, one of the owners of Tampa Bay Spas, thanked customers for 25 years of trust and said he looks forward to building the Florida market together with Watson's. The purchase price was not disclosed.
