Follow-Up: WNBA Finals Game 6 Moved to State Farm Arena; Tipoff at Midday on October 29

Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia — The Women's National Basketball Association announced on October 26 that Game 6 of the Finals will be moved to State Farm Arena in Atlanta, with tipoff set for 12:30 p.m. on October 29. The original plan was an 8 p.m. tipoff that night at the Dream's home venue, Gateway Center Arena, which seats only about 3,500, while State Farm Arena can hold about 17,000. The change was made because the Hawks also play at State Farm Arena the same night; to move the Finals game into the big arena, the league moved its tipoff earlier, while the Hawks' game was pushed back to 8 p.m. The Dream and the Golden State Valkyries split the first four games, with Game 5 played on the evening of October 26 in San Francisco, and Game 6 could decide the championship. Dream guard Allisha Gray said that no matter the tipoff time, the team's goal is to win Game 6. The league's commissioner said the first two Finals games at State Farm Arena were sold out, and moving to the big arena will let more fans witness the crowning of a champion in person.
