Saint Louis University Hosts Civic Life Forum on October 26, Focusing on Election Trust and Voter Participation
Saint Louis University's William L. Clay Sr. Institute for Civic Engagement and Economic Justice, in St. Louis, Missouri, is scheduled to hold a public forum on October 26, "Every Voice, Every Vote: Exploring Civic Life Across Missouri," discussing how election laws and civic institutions affect public trust in elections.
The forum is held at the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business and is moderated by Sarah Fenske, executive editor of St. Louis Magazine; guests include Jerry Hunter, chair of the St. Louis City Board of Election Commissioners, Washington University School of Law professor Travis Krum, and Felicia Hampton of the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition, among others.
The forum is co-hosted by the institute with the Saint Louis University/YouGov Poll and the Missouri Humanities Council; topics include how voters view the fairness and security of elections, voter access, election administration, initiative petitions, redistricting and public confidence in democratic institutions, and it will draw on questions from surveys of 900 likely voters conducted in February and August 2026.
The forum is open to community members, students and civic leaders; with Election Day on November 3 approaching, the organizers hope the public discussion will help voters understand how the election system works.
