Minneapolis Performance on the Night of October 26: Shakey Graves Takes the Stage at First Avenue
American singer-songwriter Shakey Graves will perform on the night of Monday, October 26 at First Avenue in Minneapolis, at the First Avenue club at 701 North 1st Avenue. According to a local performance calendar site, October 26 is the Minneapolis stop of Shakey Graves's current run of shows; the same night, the Dakota Jazz Club will present the JazzMN Orchestra's tribute to Sinatra and Ellington, and the Varsity Theater in the university district will host The Longest Johns, making for a rich selection of live music in Minneapolis that evening. First Avenue is one of Minneapolis's most iconic music venues, made famous by the film Purple Rain, with stars painted on its exterior walls for the many musicians who have performed there. Shakey Graves is known for folk rock and indie music and has built a steady fan base through continuous touring in recent years. For working fans, the Monday-night show on October 26 is a mid-workweek treat; the organizers remind attendees to arrive early, as parking around First Avenue is tight on show nights. Minneapolis's performance market enters its peak season in the fall, with venues packing their schedules in the last week of October, and fans can choose among different styles of shows to suit their tastes.
